This is a little off topic for what we usually talk about here at Major Affiliate. But I would like to share a great broker company I started using. Disable Theme & Plugin Editor in WordPress

Recently I was trying to disable the theme and plugin editor in WordPress so that other users couldn’t edit the plugins or themes. After searching around there was no easy solution that didn’t involve hacking core WordPress files. I did find a post with some code on how to disable both the theme and plugin editor but it wasn’t entirely complete and was for WordPress MU. So I decided to take it one step further and create a plugin for it that would work for the standard WordPress.

I have also included notes in the plugin if you want to just disable the theme editor or the plugin editor or to even set the user level to disable the editors.

ShrinkTheWeb Ajax Thumbnail Generator

Not often do we get to show software tutorials. Well, we have treat today with a very simple ShrinkTheWeb ajax thumbnail generator. ShrinkTheWeb is a popular thumbnail generator service that allows users to generate a thumbnail of any website in various sizes. There has been a few code examples available but nothing done with ajax or doesn’t require a page refresh.

Below is a snapshot of the code used. It is stripped down to the basic function (No CSS or styling).

Use this code to quickly and easily generate thumbnails using ShrinkTheWeb’s API. Just simply replace a view variables in the code and you are all set to go. Make sure you create an account at ShrinkTheWeb to get your Access Key ID. You will need this in order for the script to work.
